Permit Costs and Plan Check Fees

Gentlemen:
Mr. Dick Allyn and I attended a preliminary meeting with the City of Greeley
Building Department and Planning Officials to review the upcoming Weld
County General Hospital construction. Two items are of great importance
at this time.
In the past there was a Gentlemen's agreement between Weld County and the
City of Greeley not to charge each other for Building Permits and Plan
Check Fees or other associated fees. With the contimplated construction
of the Northglenn Sewage Disposal Plant in Weld County, Weld County has
stated that they will be charging those fees to the City of Northglenn.
Based on those fees being assessed for that Disposal Plant, the County
has informed the City of Greeley that they will be billed for permits and
fees associated with the new City of Greeley Sewage Disposal Plant east
of the City Limits. This assessment is contrary to previous agreements. •
Based on the City of Greeley being assessed those permit costs the City
of Greeley has informed us that they will be charging building permit and
plan check fees and associated sewer, water and drainage fees on the new
hospital construction.
The building permit fees for the new hospital construction based on 14.8
million dollars of construction valuation would be $15, 157.00 maximum.
Plan check fees would run approximately $7.500.00. In addition to the
above, a one time only and first time to be collected drainage fee for
your total property bounded on four sides by streets where the construction _
will be taking place, at a cost of $ .04 a square foot will be $27,440.00. c
The above three items total an expenditure of S50, 127.00 that can he
possibly avoided by reinstating the agreement between the City and the
County. I would suggest that you pursue this item with the County Board of
Commissioners as well as the City of Greeley.

Please inform me of any progress made with regards to this matter prior to
the issuance of our estimate on April 16, 1980. Should we not receive any
information with regard to this matter we will include the $50, 127.00
expected expenditure in our next estimate and thereby reduce the project
reserves appropriately. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
