RESOLUTION
RE: PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT PARTS.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,
pursuant to Colorado Statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested
with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Purchasing Policies
and Procedures for Weld County in accordance with State Statute and the Weld
County Home Rule Charter, and
WHEREAS, Motor Vehicle - IGA does service all county vehicles and equip-
ment that, in many cases, require parts that are only available from limited
or sole source providers, and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Board of County Commissioners to have
open and competitive bidding whenever possible, and
WHEREAS, timely repair of equipment is essential to the efficient,
effective, and economic delivery of county services.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Purchasing Agent shall bid out
vehicle parts and associated replacement equipment when possible and provide
current bid lists to the Equipment Operations Manager of the Motor Vehicle -
IGA for items available via the normal purchasing process; however, items not
practical or possible to bid shall be purchased by authority of this resolution
from a sole provider and, if available by other than a sole provider, the
vendor with the lowest quote and the most practical to provide part items in
a timely manner to repair equipment essential to efficient and effective and
economic delivery of county services shall be awarded the specific bid for the
specific part needed.
The above and foregoing resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the day of June, A.D. , 1982.
