HomeMy WebLinkAbout840262.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF "STOP AHEAD" AND "STOP" SIGNS AT THE INTERSECTION OF WELD COUNTY ROAD 17 AND 66 WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS , the Weld County Department of Engineering has in- formed the Board that the changing of the intersection of Weld County Road 17 and 66 to a crossroad type intersection will change the flow of traffic and increase the number of vehicles at an already busy intersection, and they recommend that "Stop Ahead" and "Stop" traffic devices be installed at said inter- section to insure safety to the traveling public, and WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the Department of Engi- neering, the Board has determined that said traffic devices are necessary for the protection of the general public. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com- missioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the Department of Engi- neering is hereby directed to install "Stop Ahead" and "Stop" signs at the intersection of Weld County Roads 17 and 66, said signs are for the safety of the general public and must conform to the State manual and specifications. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 15th day of August, A.D. , 1984 . It is my recommendation that the placement of 4 each 36" octagon stop signs preceded by ± 750' 4 each 36' stop ahead signs . Thereby stopping traffic from each direction previous to entering intersecting roads .
