RE: APPROVAL TO PURCHASE TELEPHONE WIRING FROM MOUNTAIN BELL
LOCATED IN CENTENNIAL CENTER AND FT. LUPTON FACILITIES
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, due to the division of Mountain Bell, Weld County
must purchase the telephone wiring in the Centennial Center and
the Ft. Lupton facilities, and
WHEREAS, the purchase price of the wiring in said facilities
is TEN THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED FIFTY ONE and 20/100 DOLLARS
($10 ,951. 20) , and
WHEREAS , the Board deems it advisable to purchase the tele-
hone wiring from Mountain Bell for said facilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by. the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the purchase of the
telephone wiring in the Centennial Center and Ft. Lupton facili-
ties, at the price hereinabove mentioned, be, and hereby is,
approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly made
and eeconded, adopted by the following vote on the 11th day of
April, A.D. , 1984.

Mountain Bell Telephone Wiring Buyout

Attached are the quotes prepared by Mountain Bell to purchase the telephone
wiring located in the Centennial Center and at Ft. Lupton. Total buyout price
is $10,951.20 and the price is good for six months. We must buy the wiring.
The choice is to pay for it over eight years with a total cost of $37,215.88
or to buy it in one payment with a cost of $10,951.20. If we exercise the
buyout in one payment, our monthly payment to the phone company would be
reduced by $697.63. The payback on the buyout would be approximately 16
months which I believe is quite good. Also, during the remaining 80 months of
the eight year time period, we would not have any payment to Mountain Bell for
'the wiring in the two locations. Additionally, Weld County ownership of the
wiring would allow us to use the wiring to connect various types of
communication and computer equipment under certain conditions without getting
approval or charges from Mountain Bell.
In conclusion, I recommend that the Board exercise the buyout option for a
cost of $10,951.20.
