RESOLUTION'
RE: DENIAL OF PETITION TO VACATE A PORTION OF WELD COUNTY ROAD 93
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, a petition to vacate Weld County Road 93 from Weld
County Road 66 to Weld County Road 68 has been presented to the
Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Engineer has studied 'the request
to vacate a portion of Weld County Road 93 and finds that vaca-
tion of this section line road could landlock some parcels of
land, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Engineer has suggested that the
petitioner might (1) install and maintain cattle guards at his
expense or (2) install an unlocked gate across Weld County Road

93 at Weld County Road 68 andk6615 while cattle are being pas-
tured, if other area residents do not object, and
WHEREAS, the Board has studied the recommendations of the
Weld County Engineer and deems it advisable to deny said peti-
tion for vacation of a portion of Weld County Road 93 .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the petition to vacate
Weld County Road 93 from Weld County Road 66 to Weld County
Road 68 be, and hereby is, denied.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 9th day of
July, A.D. , 1980.

Subject:_Vacation of Weld County Road 93
The petition requests that Weld County Road 93 be vacated from Weld County
Road 66 to Weld County Road 68.
An on-site investigation was made on Weld County Road 93, just south of Weld
County Road 68 with the following findings:
1. Weld County Road 93 between Weld County Road 68 and Weld County Road
66 has been a gravelled road.
2. Said road does not appear to be maintained at this tine - maybe
occassionally.
3. On Weld County Road 93 between Weld County Road 68 and Weld County
Road 661 both sides are pasture land with the balance being wheat land.
4. It appears the road is used by farmers during the farming periods as
the case may be.
5. It appears this road is used for ingress and egress to many 4 of
wheat land in this vicinity.
In my opinion, the vacation of this section line road could land lock some
parcels of land to the south of this request and goes against the so called
"1889" law that all section lines should be County roads.
In order to solve the water problem in the two pastures, cattle guards could
be installed by the applicant at his expense and maintained by him from then
on. Said cattle guards should meet County specs in order to hold up large
grain trucks, etc.
If other area residents do not object, the petitioners could install an unlocked
gate across Weld County Road 93 at Weld County Road 68 and 661/2 while cattle are
being pastured.
