Home My WebLink About840605.tiff RESOLUTION RE: PREPARATION OF BALLOTS IN DETERMINING ESTABLISHMENT OF NEW RAYMER - STONEHAM PEST CONTROL DISTRICT WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS , at the request of the landowners and lessees of State land in the New Raymer - Stoneham area of Weld County, petitions have been circulated for the formation of a pest control district for grasshoppers (Melanoplus) , and WHEREAS , under the provisions of Title 35 , Article V, CRS, as amended, said Petitioners constitute at least twenty-five percent (25%) of the resident landowners and lessees in the proposed district, which is more particularly described in Exhibit "A, " attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, accept said Petitions and direct the Weld County Extension Service to prepare ballots for the determination of the establishment of the New Raymer - Stoneham pest control district. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that F. M. We have verified that there are 278 resident landowners in the proposed district. We need 25% of the resident landowners signing a petition to call for an election. We have .verified that there are 77 names on the petition which is more than the 25%. They needed 70 signatures to have the 25%. The proposed district has 413,680 acres in the district and a letter from the U.S. Forest Service verifying there is 62,825 acres of federal land within the boundary. This means that there is 350,855 acres of state-leased and private land in the district. Fifty percent of this land needs to be voted and sixty-six and two-thirds of those voting must vote in favor of the district for it to be inacted. If you have any questions, please call on us.
