RE: APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO PURCHASE USED PILE DRIVING LEADS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the policies for purchasing adopted by the Board
of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado specifies that
any used equipment can be acquired through resolution by the
Board of County Commissioners and it is not necessary to go
through the bidding procedure, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering has indicated a
need for pile driving leads, contacted several different
suppliers, and
WHEREAS, the County can acquire the pile driving leads for
$6 , 600 plus freight $1, 035 for a grand total of $7 , 635, from
Mississippi Valley Equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado hereby authorizes the
Purchasing Director and County Engineer to acquire the used
pile driving leads for a total cost of $7 , 635 from Mississippi
Valley Equipment.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly
made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 6th
day of July, A.D. , 1981.

We have been quoted a freight rate from Tri-State Truck Lines
of $5.81 cwt. plus 18.5% fuel surcharge, based on a 15,00011
minimum load.
The leads weight 11511 per foot, and I feel if we were given
sufficient time we could ship the leads less expensively
on an LTL basis.
