HomeMy WebLinkAbout820418.tiff AR1908442 ORDINANCE #112 IN THE MATTER OF SETTING THE MILL LEVY FOR THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION FOR WELD COUNTY, COLORADO FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1983. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF WELD COUNTY, COLORADO: That it is necessary, by Colorado statutes, and by the Home Rule Charter of Weld County, Colorado, to set the annual mill levy for the annual appropriation for Weld County, Colorado, for the fiscal year 1983, and WHEREAS, in compliance with an act of law entitled, "An Act to require the affairs of the several counties of the State of Colorado to be continued from the revenue derived from taxation and prevent other expenses of any county from exceeding its revenue. . .", and in accordance with Colorado o Revised Statutes, Title 29, Article 1, 1973, "During the fiscal year, no officer, department, board, commission or other spending agency shall expend or contract to expend any money, or incur any liability, or enter into any contract which, by its terms, involves the expenditure of money for any of • a: the purposes for which provision is made in the appropriation ordinance or e '✓ resolution, including any legally authorized amendments thereto, in excess of co the amounts appropriated in said ordinance or resolution for such office, department, board, commission or other expending agency, or purpose for such fiscal year. Any contract, verbal or written, made in violation of this rri section shall be void as to the local government, and no money belonging thereto shall be paid thereon. . .", and WHEREAS, the County Council, in accordance with Section 14-7 of the Weld County Home Rule Charter, on November 4, 1982 granted an .00 increased levy for the County within their authority which will allow a total property tax revenue of $14,399,734 and a total mill levy of 17. 172. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the revenue derived from taxation of said County, shall be, and hereby is, appropriated to defray the necessary expenses and liabilities of said County for the next fiscal year, 1983, in the following sums to-wit: 620418 FUND MILLS REVENUE County General Fund 9.707 $ 8,139,526 Road and Bridge Fund 2.984 2,501 ,898 Social Services Fund 2.312 1,938,586 Hospital Capital Fund .650 545,162 Public Works Fund, County Buildings .246 206,602 Insurance Fund .553 463,578 TOTAL 17. 172 $ 14,399,734 BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the County Assessor and the County Treasurer of Weld County, Colorado, be, and hereby are, authorized and directed to make such entries upon their books, at such time or times as will be necessary to make this mill levy Ordinance for the annual appropriation for Weld County, Colorado, for the fiscal year 1983, effective. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that an emergency exists inasmuch as State law requires that the budget Ordinance of Weld County, Colorado, be enacted on or 77 before the 15th day of November, 1982, and, therefore, this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency Ordinance under the provisions of Section 3-14 of the Weld County Home Rule Charter.
