HomeMy WebLinkAbout810809.tiff MINUTES WELD COUNTY COUNCIL July 2, 1981 Tape 81-99/100 The Weld County Council met in regular session in full conformity with the Weld County Home Rule Charter at 915 Tenth Street, Greeley, Colorado, July 2, 1981, at 1:30 p.m. ROLL CALL The following members were present in person: Patricia Anderson, Ralph Waldo, De Ann Emerson, Howard Foster. Also present was one member of the press, and council secretary, Susan Elton. (Robert Martin was absent) MINUTES APPROVED Councilman Ralph Waldo made a motion to approve the minutes of the County Council 's meeting of June 18, 1981, as written. Councilman Howard Foster seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. APPOINTMENTS Either Ralph Waldo or De Ann Emerson will attend the Elected Official 's meeting on July 13. Both the commissioners and Sandy Hunter are invited to the next council meeting on July 16, 1981. CORRESPONDENCE The council discussed the publication procedure of their Report to the People. The council feels that they may have to publish in a more formal form in order to have a greater number of newspapers publish the report in its entirety. The council has received no response from the commissioners regarding their request that the commissioners recind the resolution putting restrictions on the contract for the council ' s performance auditor. The council members revealed their frustrations in not being able to move forward in performing council duties as directed in the Weld County Home Rule Charter. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Council members read the memo from Dick Barrett regarding salaries in other counties. There was discussion on present Weld Salaries and the salaries of elected officials in other Colorado counties. Members of the council and the council secretary will do more research on this subject and will continue the discussion at future meetings. NEW BUSINESS Ralph Waldo made a motion to approve payment to attorney Robert Ray in the amount of $180.00 for legal opinions completed for the council . Howard Foster seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. ADJOURNMENT There was no further business. Upon motion made and seconded, the meeting was adjourned. The time of adjournment was 2:43 p.m. , July 2, 1981.
