RE: APPROVAL OF INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN WELD COUNTY,
COLORADO AND FORT COLLINS, COLORADO CONCERNING A PROGRAM FOR
THE TRAINING OF POLICE DRIVING INSTRUCTORS.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins , Colorado is sponsoring
a program for the training of police driving instructors, and
WHEREAS, Weld County desires to participate in said program,
and
WHEREAS, an intergovernmental agreement between Weld County,
Colorado and Fort Collins, Colorado concerning said program has
been presented to the Board of County Commissioners for approval,
and
WHEREAS, Weld County shall pay the City of Fort Collins the
sum of $1, 893. 38 for each trainee, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, after studying
said agreement deems it advisable to approve the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the intergovernmental
agreement between Weld County, Colorado and the City of Fort
Collins , Colorado concerning the program for the training of
police driving instructors be, and hereby is , approved.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 11th day of
March, A.D. , 1981.

INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT
THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this 17th day of March t
1981 , by and between THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, COLORADO, a municipal
corporation, hereinafter referred to as the "City" and THE COUNTY OF WELD,
COLORADO, a political subdivision of the State of Colorado, hereinafter
referred to as "Weld".
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the City desires to sponsor a program for the training of
police driving instructors as provided by the National Academy for Police
Driving, Inc. of Texas; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to arrange for several governmental entities
to share the costs and benefits of a program for the training of police
driving instructors; and
WHEREAS, Weld desires to provide personnel for training as police
driving instructors.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is agreed by and between the parties hereto as
follows:
1. The City agrees to sponsor a training program for police driving
instructors. Said program shall be conducted by the National Academy for
Police Driving, Inc. of Texas, which shall consist of:
(a) Classroom training consisting of thirty-six (36) hours of
classroom instruction and training to personnel selected by
the parties as potential instructors.
(b) Driving course training consisting of forty-four (44)
hours of practical application, which includes driving
techniques, driving exercises and operation of mechanical
devices necessary to conduct the police driving training
course as presented by the Academy.
2. Weld shall provide one standard police vehicle for use during the
course of instruction.
3. Weld shall provide two trainees for police driving instruction.

4. For and in consideration of the sponsorship of the training
program by the City, Weld shall pay the City One Thousand Eight Hundred
Ninety-Three Dollars and 38/100 ($1 ,893.38) for each trainee. Said
payment shall be made no later than the completion date of the course.
5. It is expressly understood and agreed that the provisions of
this Intergovernmental Agreement are specifically contingent upon the City
entering into Intergovernmental Agreements with sufficient other governmen-
tal entities whereby the parties to said Intergovernmental Agreements agree
to provide eight (8) persons to participate in the instructors training
course and share equally in the payment of the fee for said services. If
said Agreements are not entered into on or before the 18th day of March,
1981, this Agreement shall be null and void.

driving school to be conducted in Fort Collins March 30-April 10. Also
enclosed for your information is a copy of our contract with NAPD.
Please review the Agreement and return it with the requisite signatures
no later than March 11.
