Home My WebLink About840829.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVAL OF 1983 CERTIFICATION OF LEVIES AND REVENUE AND AUTHORIZATION FOR CHAIRMAN TO SIGN WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, the office of the Weld County Assessor did prepare the 1983 Certification of Levies and Revenue to be submitted to the Division of Property Taxation, Department of Local Affairs, by the Weld County Commissioners, and WHEREAS, the Board did approve said 1983 Certification of Levies and Revenues , a copy of which is attached hereto and in- corporated herein by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com- missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the 1983 Certification of Levies and Revenue, which is to be submitted to the Division of Property Taxation, Department of Local Affairs, be, and hereby is , approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chairman be, and hereby is , authorized to sign said 1983 Certification of Levies and Revenue. Manager �� NORTHERN COLORADO WATER CONSERVANCY DISTRICT D-782-8-83 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, it is the duty of the Board of Directors of Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District, as provided by law, in each year to determine the amount of money necessary to be raised by ad valorem taxation, taking into consideration other sources of revenue of the District, and to fix a rate of levy, which when levied upon every dollar of assessed valuation of property within the District, and with other revenues will raise the amount required for the District to supply funds for paying the costs of all construction obligations; for providing the cost of services required to conserve, allocate, and control the water supplies of the District; for paying the expenses of administration, operation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of the works, facilities, and properties of the District; and for paying the expenses of such other business functions and activities as found by said Board to be necessary and convenient; and WHEREAS, the Repayment Contract between the District and the United States, the Contract No. 9-07-70-W0020, was submitted to and approved by vote of the taxpayers of the District, which contract states in part " . the District shall levy not less than one mill tax on property within the District as authorized by the Water Conservancy District Act of Colorado. . ."; and WHEREAS, Chapter 37-45-122, C.R.S. 1973, limits the rate of levy to one mill on the dollar of assessed valuation of property within the District after delivery of water from the works of the District; and WHEREAS, the Board of Directors found and determined that water has been delivered; is being delivered; and will continue to be delivered from the works of said District; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors of said District does now determine the amount of money to be raised by ad valorem taxation for the year of 1983, to be collected in the year 1984, is approximately Two Million Thirty-Nine Thousand Two Hundred Forty-Four Dollars ($2,039,244.00) ; and said Board of Directors does hereby fix the rate of levy of one mill to be levied upon every dollar of assessed valuation of property, both real and personal, within Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District for the year 1983; and PAGE 2 District Resolution BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors of said District does now certify to the Board of County Commissioners of Boulder, Larimer, Weld, Morgan, Washington, Logan, and Sedgwick Counties, in the State of Colorado, said rate of one mill, so fixed for said purposes of said District to be levied upon every dollar of assessed value on all property within said District in said counties as aforesaid, and does now direct that at the time and in the manner required by law for levying of taxes for county purposes, said Board of County Commissioners shall levy said tax of one mill upon each dollar of assessed valuation of all property, real or personal, within the District, in their respective counties, in addition to such other taxes as may be levied by such Board of County Commissioners; an?. WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of Erie Water & Sanitation District has appointed its Secretary to prepare and submit a proposed budget to said governing body at the proper time; and WHEREAS, Carlene Babcock has submitted a proposed budget to this governing body on September 12, 1983, for its consideration; and WHEREAS, upon due and proper notice, published or posted in accord- ance with the law, said proposed budget was open for inspection by the public at a designated place, a public hearing was held on October 10, 1983, and interested taxpayers were given the opportunity to file or register any objections to said proposed budget; and WHEREAS, whatever increases may have been made in the expenditures, like increases were added to the revenues so that the budget remains in balance, as required by law.
