RE: GRANT REQUEST OF THE CUB SCOUTS FOR USE OF THE LIVESTOCK
BUILDING AND THE EXHIBITION BUILDING AND WAIVER OF RENTAL
FEES FOR THE SAME.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Weld District Cub Scouts have requested that
they be allowed to use the Livestock Building and Exhibition
Building located at Island Grove Park on June 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 and
10, 1981 in case of inclimate weather and have further requested
that the rental fees for the same be waived, and
WHEREAS, the Board desires to grant said request of the
Cub Scouts, however, should it become necessary during inclimate
weather to use the buildings overnight, only the Livestock
Building shall be used for such purpose, and
WHEREAS, the Board further desires to waive the rental fees,
in this particular instance, for use of the Exhibition Building
and the Livestock Building.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the request of the Cub
Scouts for use of the Livestock Building and Exhibition Building
be, and hereby is , granted. However, should it become necessary
during inclimate weather to use the buildings overnight, only the
Livestock Building shall be used for such purpose.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners
of Weld County, Colorado that the rental fees for the use of
said buildings be, and hereby is , waived, in this particular
instance.

and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 23rd day of
March, A.D. , 1981.

Dear Commissioners,
I am requesting, on behalf of the Cub Scouts of Weld District,
free use of the 4-H Livestock Building and the Exhibition Building
at Island Grove Park on June 6, 7 , 8, 9, & 10, 1981 . These buildings
would be used in case of inclimate weather during the Cub Scout Day
Camp scheduled at Island Grove Park on those dates. If necessary, they
would be in use between 8 am and 5 pm. Again, these buildings would
only be used in: case of bad weather.

General Information 1981 Cub Scout Day Camp
i. Land Use
A. Parking will be limited to that area as indicated on the map.
Estimate 50-60 cars each day .
B. Headquarters as indicated on the map will be the gathering
point for cerex«onies and will house the first aid staff.
A campfire will be held in the open area at the north end of
the park.
C. Activity areas as noted on the map will include such activities
as games, an obstacle course, physical fitness, a nature hike,
sports, and crafts .
II . safety, Sanitation and Water accordin to the National Standards
for Cub Scout Day Camp
A. A fire permit has been obtained for the Saturday night campfire
assuring us that the fire department will be aware of the time
and place.
B. The hospital and emergency services will be notified in writin6
of the campsite and dates. A registered first aider will be
resent at all times.
C . Approximately 2 self-contained porta-potties will be placed at
the north end of the camp.
D. An approved water truck will be present.
III. Staff and Attendance
A. A trained staff will direct the camp and each activity will be
directed and supervised by qualified adults.
B. June 6 and 7:
Webelos overnight camp with approximatelt 150 10 year old boys.
There will be a ratio of 1 adult per 8 boys. They will camp
overnight as mentioned above.
C. June 8, 9, and 10:
.uay camp with approximately 250 8 year old boys . uaup is held
daily from approximately 8 am through 5 pm. There will be one
adult responsible for each 5 boys.
IV. The Longs Peak council of thr boy Scouts of America will relieve
you of any liability that might occur at the event and will defend
and hold you completely harmless as a result of any injury or
accident at this activity.
