Dear County Commissioners:
The Town of Milliken is aware that the funds you receive from the Colorado
Conservation Trust Fund last year were used for. the Civic Auditorium in Greeley.
This is not a project supported by the Town of Milliken. It is not a facility
that will be used to any degree by Milliken residents, it is one that will
benefit, almost exclusively, Greeley residents and the City of Greeley.
Milliken lacks many recreational facilities that most Towns take for granted.
The Conservation Trust Fund monies that you receive could be used to assist
Milliken and other small municipalities in their attempt to improve their
recreational facilities. We strongly urge you to use the Conservation Trust
Fund monies to improve recreation in small Towns. Specifically, the Town urges
you to remit to the Towns within Weld County, on a per capita basis, the money
you receive from this fund.
