The Weld County Board of Commissioners is pleased to offer its strong support for the Greeley-
Weld County Airport Authority's request for federal funding to complete the design of a future
Air Traffic Control Tower at Greeley-Weld County Airport.
Greeley-Weld County Airport serves as an important aviation facility for Weld County and the
surrounding Northern Colorado region. The airport supports business aviation, flight training,
emergency response operations, agricultural aviation, and other services that are vital to the
region's economy and transportation network.As Weld County continues to experience rapid
population and economic growth,the demand for aviation services and aircraft operations at
the airport continues to increase.
An air traffic control tower at Greeley-Weld County Airport would significantly enhance aviation
safety and operational efficiency by improving aircraft sequencing, increasing situational
awareness for pilots,and supporting safe aircraft movement on the airfield.The airport is also
actively planning additional aviation development areas that will accommodate new hangars,
aviation businesses,and expanded aircraft parking capacity,which will further increase activity
at the airport in the coming years.
Advancing the design phase of the tower project is an important step toward ensuring the
airport can safely accommodate this continued growth and maintain its role as a key
transportation asset for Weld County and Northern Colorado.
The Weld County Board of Commissioners strongly supports this request and appreciates your
consideration of this important project.
