subject: Stop Sign Request
This memo pertains to the request by Lynn Kearns , regarding
changing of stop sign controlling traffic emerging from dump
site into intersection of Weld County Road 6 and Weld County
Road 5 .
Weld County Road 5 coming from the north intersects with Weld
County Road 6 and does not continue south. Weld County Road 6
coming from the east intersects with Weld County Road 5 and
normally would not continue to the west , thus becoming a 90
turn. However, because of the entrance into the dump site
being a continuation of Road 6 , this intersection becomes a
Tee intersection with Road 5 , becoming a dead end road at this
point.
Due to the heavy flow of traffic that travels on Road 6 into
and out of the dump site, it is my recommendation that the
stop sign be placed to control the traffic on Road 5 , entering
the intersection and be preceeded by a stop ahead sign.
