Dear Congresswoman Boebert,
Weld County strongly supports the request for Congressionally Directed Spending to complete
construction of the CO 52 and WCR 59 Roundabout Project. This intersection has experienced
persistent serious and fatal crashes for more than a decade, leading CDOT and local partners to
identify it as a top safety priority. With Weld Central Middle and High Schools located at the
intersection, this project is essential to protect students,families, and school traffic.
The roundabout will significantly improve safety by eliminating the severe broadside and angle
crashes that occur at this rural high-speed location and by reducing conflict points, improving
vehicle maneuvering, and lowering the likelihood of high-impact collisions.
This improvement is also critical for maintaining reliable mobility along CO 52, one of the most
heavily used oversize/overweight freight routes in the state. Enhancing traffic flow and reducing
delays will support the movement of goods and people across the region, benefiting surrounding
communities and local industries.
Weld County urges federal support to help deliver this long-needed safety and mobility project for,
our community.
