Box 758 COUNTY, CO Greeley, CO 80632 March 10, 2026 The Honorable Gabe Evans United States House of Representatives Washington, D.C. 20515 Dear Congressman Evans, The Town of Platteville is requesting FY2027 Community Project Funding to assist with the construction of a new Police Station that will be located next to Town Hall. A preliminary . concept design was completed in October 2025 for the new Police Station with a budget estimate of$5,437,887 to build the 4,565sf facility that will provide the needed office,evidence storage and overall workspace for 12 police employees with future growth capabilities. The Weld County Board of Commissioners is in full support of their request. The Town is actively working with an architectural firm to finalize the design and construction documents this spring to allow the new Police Station to be constructed in the next fiscal year once funding is secured. This project qualifies under the Department of Agriculture- Rural Development - Rural Housing Services (Community Facilities) account of the FY2027 Appropriations and a funding request of$2.5 million dollars is being requested to help fund the new Police Station. In addition to the wide array of law enforcement services the Platteville Police Department provides, Platteville has also provided contract law enforcement services for the Town of Gilcrest since 2016 and has further provided two School Resource Officers (SROs) for the Weld RE-1 School District since 2017 for the Platteville and Gilcrest school facilities. The police department has been housed within Platteville Town Hall since 1994 and has since doubled the number of employees needed to provide these essential services. The Weld Board of County Commissioners is supportive of the funding request that is being made by the Town of Platteville to build a new Police Station with the assistance of FY2027 Community Project Funding.4Sin rely, Scott K.
