Home My WebLink About20260517 Resolution Approve Regulating, Warning, and Guiding Traffic During Rescheduled Temporary Closure of County Road 14 Between County Roads 31 and 37 for Approximately Two and a Half (2.5) Weeks, for Installation of 20-Inch Water Main Whereas, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and Whereas, pursuant to C.R.S. §42-4-106(6)(a), "...local authorities, with their respective jurisdiction may, for the purpose of road construction and maintenance, temporarily close to through traffic or to all vehicular traffic any highway or portion thereof for a period not to exceed a specified number of work days for project completion and shall, in conjunction with any such road closure establish appropriate detours or provide for an alternative routing of the traffic affected...", and Whereas, on the 25th day of February, 2026, pursuant to said Statute and upon the basis of traffic and personnel investigations, the Board determined that conditions existed which made it necessary to temporarily close County Road 14, between County Roads 31 and 37, to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic by posting signs thereon, with said closure being effective March 2, 2026, for approximately two and a half (2.5) weeks for the installation of a 20-inch water main, and Whereas, Department of Public Works staff informed the Board that the Town of Fort Lupton requested changes to the construction plans that caused unanticipated delays and requested the Board reschedule the temporary closure, and Whereas, on the 11th day of March, 2026, pursuant to said Statute and upon the basis of traffic and personnel investigations, the Board has determined that conditions exist which make it necessary to reschedule said temporarily closure of County Road 14, between County Roads 31 and 37, to through traffic and to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic by posting signs thereon, with said rescheduled closure being effective March 17, 2026, for approximately two and a half (2.5) weeks for the installation of a 20-inch water main. Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, deems it necessary to regulate, warn, and guide vehicular traffic on County Roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn, and/or guide traffic thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. cam: eoCRs) , OiSpa+ch,, cSP 2026-0517 031 EG0024 Rescheduled Temporary Closure — County Road 14 Page 2 Be it further resolved that the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, does declare and establish that the temporary closure of County Road 14, between County Roads 31 and 37, be, and hereby is, rescheduled, with said rescheduled closure being effective March 17, 2026, for approximately two and a half (2.5) weeks for the installation of a 20-inch water main.
