,' � WHEREAS, the University Bulldogs poms team competed in the state spirit championships
, on Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Denver Coliseum; and w ^w
�" , WHEREAS, perfection is the word to describe the Bulldogs' performance, as the team '
finished with a score of 84.3 and no point deductions to win the Class 2A/3A state
r championship; and

WHEREAS, the second consecutive state championship for the Bulldogs stood out, , -4
,,, „___ proving in the words of Head Coach Gina Shepard that despite the Bulldogs being a
c, \ smaller team in a lower classification, "we're just as good as that big team."; and
WHEREAS, the championship is the seventh overall for the poms program, an 1
r accomplishment reflecting an ability to continually rise and meet a standard of `` t\

_ { excellence — further solidified by Shepard being named Coach of the Year by the i j, -�
Colorado High School Activities Association. Such overall dominance establishes team i < ,
members and coaches as leaders and brings pride to University High School and to us as ,

`,t ' WHEREAS, as exciting as athletic accomplishments are, equally exciting is what awaits
team members moving forward. To the three seniors on the team: know the success �`

\- achieved this season doesn't have to stop — it can be achieved in other pursuits �,
throughout life. To the underclassmen: future state championships can be earned
• r through the lessons learned this year, a desire to improve, and the continued support of ,� .
parents and loved ones—something critical in making a state championship a reality.
