Amendment #5 to the Wellpath service contract makes changes to better reflect the operational needs of the Sheriffs Office through changes to staffing titles and manpower, eliminating and reorganizing positions that create a cost savings to the County. What options exist for the Board? The Board can approve or not approve this Amendment. Consequences: If not approved, the County will continue to receive medical services through Wellpath at the previously approved staffing level, but this does not reflect current operational needs and would include payment for personnel that are not utilized due to the closing of the Southwest Substation. Impacts: If the Board approves the amendment, medical services will continue through Wellpath at the new staffing levels, which meets current operational needs with a reduction in costs. Costs (Current Fiscal Year / Ongoing or Subsequent Fiscal Years): This amendment reduces the monthly costs by$52,615.63, and annual costs of the contract by $631,387.51 in 2026. Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board approve this amendment. The services that Wellpath provides are comprehensive and meet the needs of the County to deliver inmate medical services to the Weld County Sheriffs Office. Wellpath is proud to be your partner. We strive to exceed your expectations regarding the level and quality of services we provide for the Weld County Sheriff's Office. Proposed Title Changes & Staffing Adjustments Per our discussion with Wellpath Operational Leadership, we have reviewed the request to modify the current staffing matrices for both the North Jail Complex and Southwest Substation Facilities. Therefore, we have prepared the following cost proposal to reflect the requested title and staffing changes, starting with title changes, which come at no cost to the County: • Convert 2.10 FTEs of Registered Nurse Clinic to Registered Nurse—Clinic/2W (Days) • Convert 4.20 FTEs of Licensed Practical Nurse—Med Pass/Clinical to Licensed Practical Nurse— Med Pass (Days) • Convert 1.00 FTEs of Quality Assurance/Community Coordinator to Medical Assistant (Days) • Convert 1.00 FTEs of CMA/Records to Medical Records Clerk(Days) • Convert 2.10 FTEs of Charge RN (Night)to Registered Nurse—Charge/Booking(Nights) • Convert 2.10 FTEs of Registered Nurse—Booking to Registered Nurse 2W (Nights) In addition, 2.10 FTEs of Registered Nurse—Clinic shall be converted into 2.10 FTEs of Licensed Practical Nurse—Med Pass (Nights).The hourly rate of this position shall be decreased from forty-nine dollars per hour($49.00)to thirty-seven dollars per hour($37.00).
