BO GREELEY, COLORADO R= COLORADO March 10, 1980 • Mr. Henry Hill 5291 Mesquite Court Johnstown, Colorado 80534 Dear Mr. Hill: It is the opinion of the Weld County Board that it would not be in the best interest of Weld County to impose a vehicle weight limitation on traffic entering Northmoor Acres. • After your recent visit and request, we have discussed the matter with the Engineer and Attorney and concluded the following: - That such a limit would put unreasonable restrictions on buses and commercial vehicles. - That any such limit would be difficult to enforce. - That the roads were designed for legal weight limits originally. - That numerous exceptions would have to be made to accommodate legitimate users such as oil well and commercial traffic. - That a precedent would be set with respect to equally restrictive limits in the other subdivisions which are the maintenance responsibility of Weld County. It appears that i..-rposition of weight limitations is not properly the responsibility of the Weld County government. The roads in Nortivnoor Acres are Weld County roads and to restrict traffic weights below legal limits would be inconsistent with our policies on other Weld County roads. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the matter further, please feel free to contact me or the County Engineer, Mr. Wayne S. Smyth. Sincerely, C. W.
