HomeMy WebLinkAbout20101739.tiff RESOLUTION RE: APPROVE INSTALLATION OF VARIOUS TEMPORARY TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON MULTIPLE COUNTY ROADS NEAR THE TOWN OF GROVER WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS,the Weld County Department of Public Works has recommended to the Board that various temporary signs, as designated in the Temporary Signage Plan, be installed on County Roads 87, 120, 120.75, and 122, for a period commencing August 2, 2010, and ending September 30, 2010, to ensure safety to the traveling public, and WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said temporary traffic control devices are necessary for the protection of the general public. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado,that the Department of Public Works be, and hereby is, directed to install various temporary signs, as designated in Temporary Signage Plan, on County Roads 87, 120, 120.75, and 122, for a period commencing August 2, 2010, and ending September 30, 2010, for the safety of the general public, and said signs shall conform to the State Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 2nd day of August, A.D., 2010. Due to increased truck traffic in the Groverarea the Town of Grover requested that Noble Energy install numerous signs on the roadways entering the Town. Noble Energy installed 6 signs on Weld County Roadways to account for dust and noise issues. Public Works is working with the Town of Grover and Noble Energy to pave the gravel segments of WCR 87 and WCR 122 in the Town of Grover to mitigate for the increased truck traffic.
