RE: Will Serve Letter for Mulch Facility USR Application
Dear Mr. Cook:
Tetra Tech RMC, Inc. is working with Tim Smith of Renewable Fiber on an Use by Special
Review Application through Weld County. The proposed mulch facility is located on a tract in
the NE corner of the NW 1/4 of Section 29, Township 4 North, Range 67 West of the 6th P.M.
The property will be used to unload railcars of mulch which will be stockpiled for several
months at a time, between peak seasons. At times, the stockpiled mulch will be reloaded onto
semis and delivered. During peak season there will be one full-time and one part-time employee
on site, with as many as ten semi drivers visiting the site daily. The business operates Monday
through Friday, and Saturdays as needed.
Critical to the USR Application is confirmation of service to the site by the Little Thompson
Water District. In order to complete the USR Application, Weld County Planning Department
requires the developer of the site to obtain a letter from Little Thompson Water District to
confirm the existence of a water supply of sufficient quality, quantity, and dependability to the
site. Tetra Tech RMC, Inc. requests a statement of water availability from Little Thompson
Water District to serve the proposed mulch facility. Based on the number of persons on site
during peak operating season, we estimate the site will require only a small tap.
Tetra Tech RMC would appreciate receiving a letter from you as soon as possible. I can be
reached for questions or comments at 303-772-5282.
Thank you for your assistance,
TETRA TECH RMC
