Soil name and description
Symool
40 Nunn loam, 0 to 6 percent slopes
The Nunn soil is a deep, well drained soil. It is
formed on slightly dissected plains and stream terraces
from calcareous loamy alluvial material. The surface
is a loam. The underlying material is a calcareous clay
loam. The soils have slow permeability. The available
water holding capacity is high. Roots penetrate to 60
inches or more. Runoff is medium and the erosion
hazard due to wind is slight.
54 I Platner loam, 0 to 3 percent slopes
The Platner soil is a deep, well drained soil. It is
formed on smooth and slightly dissected stream terraces
from calcareous loamy alluvial material. The surface
is a loam. The subsoil is clay, clay loam, and silty
clay loam. The underlying material is a calcareous.
The soils have slow permeability. Their available
water holding capacity is high. Roots penetrate to 60
inches or more. Runoff is slow and the erosion hazard
due to wind is moderate.
