RE: DECLARE THE PROSPECT VALLEY AREA AS A DISASTER AREA DUE TO
FLOODING.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Prospect Valley area in Weld County, Colorado
has suffered serious damage due to the collapsing of the Prospect
Valley Reservoir, said area being more particularly described
as follows :
Township 1 and Township 2 North, Range 63
West and Township 1 and Township 2 North,
Range 64 West of the 6th P.M. , Weld County,
Colorado.
WHEREAS, the cost and magnitude of responding to and recovery
from the impact of the flooding is far in excess of Weld County' s
available resources.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado do hereby declare the
Prospect Valley area, more particularly described above, to be
a disaster area.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 13th day of
February, A.D. , 1980 .
