RE: GRANT REQUEST OF THE WELD COUNTY SHERIFF ' S OFFICE FOR CON-
VERSION OF PROPERTY
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS , the Weld County Sheriff' s Office has presented a
list of property held by their office which is unclaimed, aban-
doned, or lost, and for which a reasonable inquiry has been made
to identify and notify the rightful owner. Despite such efforts,
the rightful owners cannot be identified or located, and
WHEREAS , pursuant to Ordinance No. 28 , Section 11, the Weld
County Sheriff has requested official conversion of the property
described in Exhibit "A" , which is attached hereto and incorporated
herein by reference, for use by the Weld County Sheriff' s Office
to carry out normal duties and responsibilites , and
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable
to grant said request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the request of the Weld
County Sheriff ' s Office for conversion of the property listed in
Exhibit "A" for use by the Weld County Sheriff' s Office to carry
out normal duties and responsibilities be, and hereby is, granted.
The above and foregoing Resolution was , on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 23rd day of

Subject: Conversion of Property.
I request permission to convert the following items to Weld County
Sheriff' s Office use per Weld County Ordinance #28 , Section 11.
1. Smith/Wesson Model 10 revolver, serial number D995072 .
2 . Smith/Wesson Model Military Issue revolver, serial number
V125578 .
3 . Pentax 35mm camera, serial number 3674993 , with case lens
and assorted filters.
Items #1 and 2 to be used for training purposes by the Field Operations
Department. Item #1 used in a suicide, owner of gun did not want it
returned to him. Item #2 taken from a D.U. I. subject in 1978 , no
response to certified mail. 'Item #3 was found property no owner located
item is clear CCIC/NCIC. Item has been in our custody the required
90 days. I.tem #3 to be used by Crime Scene Techs as supplemental equipment

The Board hereby gives you permission to convert
the Smith/Wesson Model 10 revolver, serial number
D995072, Smith/Wesson Model Military Issue revolver,
serial number V125578 and the Pentax 35 mm camera,
serial number 3674993, with case lens and assorted
filters to Weld County Sheriff' s office use per
Weld County Ordinance #28, Section 11.
