On November 20, 2001, a representative of Northern Colorado Geotech performed an excavation
observation for the residence under construction at the above referenced address east of LaSalle,
Colorado.
The soil exposed at the upper foundation level consisted of brown silty clayey sand and the soil at the
lower foundation level consisted of tan silty sand. These soils are similar to those encountered by
Horizon Construction Services during their subsurface exploration for the site (Project No. 2001139,
dated September 29, 2001). Based on our observations and the recommendations of the
geotechnical engineering report, it is our opinion that the proposed residence may be supported by a
spread footing foundation system. The foundation should be designed in accordance with the
recommendations and specifications provided in the geotechnical engineering report.
Groundwater was encountered approximately two feet below the bottom of the excavation. Therefore,
e ommend a perimeter drainage system be installed aroun . It is
our opinio an i error rainagsystpn wn t in situations such as these,
however, this should be osci. eUtitith the structural engineer for the project.
