RESOLUTION
RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC ON COUNTY
ROADS AND AT COUNTY ROAD INTERSECTIONS IN WELD
COUNTY, COLORADO.
WHEREAS, a multitude of complaints have been made to the Board
of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that drivers of motor
vehicles habitually drive on County Roads and through County Road Inter-
sections without regard for the general safety of drivers of other motor
vehicles, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to 1963 C. R. S. , 13-5-69 (1), as amended, local
authorities, with reference to streets or highways under their jurisdiction,
are authorized to designate through streets or highways and to erect stop
signs and/or no parking signs at specified areas and/or specified entrances
thereto, and
WHEREAS, said Board, pursuant to such complaints, has determined
upon the basis of traffic and personal investigations that conditions exist
which make it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on
county roads by posting signs thereon.
NOW, THE REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners, Weld County, Colorado, that the Board deems it necessary to
regulate, warn and guide traffic on county roads and any intersections thereof,
and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic control devices
as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon
for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall
conform to the State Manual and specifications.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners,
Weld County, Colorado, does declare and establish a NO PARKING zone area
on the North and South sides of County Road No. 58, also known as West 20th
Street in front of Aims College, located west of Greeley, Colorado, between
47th Avenue and 59th Avenue, in Weld County, Colorado, all as shown on plat
as submitted by the Weld County Engineer and made a part hereof by reference.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and
seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 17thday of December, A.D. ,
1975.

Traffic Control Devices West 20th Street ( Road 58 )
Subject:
Parking in front of Aims College on the north and south side of West
20th Street continues to be a traffic hazard. I have conferred with
Lieutenant James Bell of the Colorado State Highway Patrol and have
acted on his recommendation that additional no parking signs be
installed on West 20th Street. We have installed additional signs
as shown on the attached sketch dated 12/1/75. Lieutenant James
Bell has reviewed our signing and concurs with our recommendations.
Will you please prepare the necessary resolution establishing no
parking zones on the north and south side of West 20th Street from
59th Avenue to 47th Avenue.

A traffic study has been completed on West 20th Street at Aims
College.
This is a very dangerous condition due to parking in front of Aims
College. Vehicles leaving the college parking lot are unable to
see oncoming traffic on West 20th Street both east and westbound.
Many complaints have been received from this area regarding this
condition. Adequate parking space has been provided at the college,
but it is not being used.
Corrective action taken has been to properly install "No Parking"
signs in the area shown on the diagram for approximately 550 feet
on the north side of West 20th Street and approximately 625 feet
on the south side of West 20th Street.
The attached diagram indicates the corrective action taken. All
signs are installed.
Your cooperation in adopting a resolution to this effect will be
appreciated.
