RE: APPROVE AMENDMENT TO RESOLUTION #961827 REGARDING INSTALLATION
OF TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES ON WELD COUNTY ROAD 27 BETWEEN WELD
COUNTY ROADS 8 AND 12, SOUTH TO THE CITY LIMITS OF FORT LUPTON,
COLORADO
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, by Resolution #961827 dated October 7, 1996, the Board did approve the
installation of"Weight Limit 5 Ton" and "End 5 Ton Weight Limit" signs to limit weight on Weld
County Road 27 between Weld County Roads 8 and 12, south to the city limits of Fort Lupton,
Colorado, as diagramed in the attached Exhibit A, to ensure safety to the traveling public, and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Department of Public Works has now recommended
changes to the Board, as diagramed in the attached Exhibit B, to install the following signs on
Weld County Road (WCR) 27 between Weld County Roads 4 and 12, south to the city limits of
Fort Lupton, Colorado:
1. A sign stating "Weight Limit 5 Ton Local Deliveries Excepted", between
WCR's 10 and 12, for both northbound and southbound traffic.
2. A sign located south of the WCR 10 intersection, stating "End 5 Ton Weight
Limit" for southbound traffic.
3. A sign located south of the WCR 8 intersection, stating "5 Ton Weight Limit 1
Mile Ahead" for northbound traffic.
4. A sign located south of the WCR 6 intersection, stating "5 Ton Weight Limit 2
Miles Ahead" for northbound traffic.
WHEREAS, the Board has determined that said changes in traffic control devices are
necessary for the protection of the general public.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, be, and hereby amends, Resolution #961827 to direct the Department
of Public Works to install "Weight Limit 5 Ton Local Deliveries Excepted", "5 Ton Weight Limit 1
Mile Ahead", and "5 Ton Weight Limit 2 Miles Ahead" signs on Weld County Road 27 between
Weld County Roads 4 and 12, south to the city limits of Fort Lupton, Colorado, as diagramed in
the attached Exhibit B, for the safety of the general public, and said signs shall conform to the
State manual and specifications.

by the following vote on the 6th day of November, A.D., 1996.

Amendment to the Resolution dated October 7, 1996
RE: Approve installation of Traffic Control devices on Weld County Road 27 between Weld
County Roads 8 and 12, south to the city limits of Fort Lupton, Colorado
The Amendment suggests three changes to the original resolution:
1. A sign stating "Weight limit 5 ton local deliveries excepted."
2. A sign one mile south stating "5 ton weight limit 1 mile ahead."
3. Another sign two miles south stating "5 ton weight limit 2 miles ahead."
