HomeMy WebLinkAbout750130.tiff RESOLUTION RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC ON COUNTY ROADS AND AT COUNTY ROAD INTERSECTIONS IN WELD COUNTY, COLORADO. WHEREAS, a multitude of complaints have been made to the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that drivers of motor vehicles habitually drive on County Roads and through County Road Inter- sections without regard for the general safety of drivers of other motor vehicles, and WHEREAS, pursuant to 1963 Colorado Revised Statutes, 13-5-69 (1), as amended, local authorities, with reference to streets or highways under their jurisdiction, are authorized to designate through streets or highways and to erect stop signs and/or no parking signs at specified areas and/or specified entrances thereto, and WHEREAS, said Board, pursuant to such complaints, has determined upon the basis of traffic and personal investigations that conditions exist which make it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on County Roads by posting signs thereon. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, that the Board deems it necessary to regulate, warn and guide traffic on County Roads and any intersections thereof, and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic control devices as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall conform to the State Manual and specifications. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, does declare and establish a SCHOOL BUS STOP AHEAD zone area on both sides of County Road No. 3, between County Road No. 38 and County Road No. 40 in Township 4 North, Range 68 West of the 6th P. M. in Southwest Weld County, Colorado, said signs being approximately F !, 1, 000 feet South of County Road No. 40 and approximately 1, 000 feet North of County Road No. 38, all as shown on plat as submitted by the Weld County Traffic Engineer and made a part hereof by reference. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 19th day of February, A.D. , 1975. Subject: Traffic Report Study On Or Before The existing sight distance is limited on County Road 3 between County Road 38 and County Road 40 . The school bus stops to load and unload children in this area. We have received complaints from citizens in this area , concerning the safety of the children entering and leaving the stopped school buses . We have placed "School Bus Stop Ahead" signs with 25 mile per hour advisory speeds at the location shown on the attached sketch dated February 7 , 1975 .
