RE: Request for Conflict of Interest Ruling - Bob Ehrlich
WHEREAS, a ruling has been requested of the Weld County Council as
to a possible conflict of interest regarding Bob Ehrlich; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Ehrlich serves as Chairman of the Weld County Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Home Rule Charter for Weld County provides in Section
16-9 as follows:
Section 16-9--Conflict of Interest.
(1 ) General : No County officer, member of an appointed
Board, or employee shall have any interest in any
enterprise or organization doing business with Weld
County which might interfere with the unbiased dis-
charge of his duty to the public and the best interest
of the County. This restriction shall not apply where
the officer, member of an appointed board, or employee's
department has no direct contact nor business transaction
with any enterprise or organization.
WHEREAS, Mr. Ehrlich is not doing business with the county; and
WHEREAS, the Weld County Charter, does not find this u County
matter tobe�withinl , in �ther preting the c
purview ofthelconflict
of interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Weld County Council not rule
whether Mr. Ehrlich does or does not have a conflict of interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Weld County Council terminate
discussion of the request.
