RE: APPROVE "YIELD AHEAD" AND "YIELD" SIGNS ON WELD COUNTY ROAD
40 AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH WELD COUNTY ROAD 55
WHEREAS , the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS , the Engineering Department has requested that the
Board approve "Yield Ahead" and "Yield" signs on Weld County Road
40 at its intersection with Weld County Road 55 , said signs having
been previously erected due to obstructed vision at this
intersection, and
WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the County engineer, the
Board deems it advisable to approve said traffic control devices
at said intersection.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County , Colorado, that "Yield Ahead" and
"Yield" signs be, and hereby are, approved on Weld County Road 40
at its intersection with Weld County Road 55 to control traffic at
said intersection. Said traffic control devices, which are for
the safety of the general public, must conform to the State manual
and specifications.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded , adopted by the following vote on the 18th day of
May, A.D. , 1987.

Attached is a memorandum and sketch regarding Yield and Yield Ahead signing
at the above locations. I concur with Marc's recommendation and request that
this he included in an upcoming Commissioners' Board Meeting.

Subject: Proposed Yield and Yield Ahead signs - Intersections of Weld County
Roads 53 and 42 AND 55 and 40.
It has been brought to my attention that there has never been resolutions
for the Yield signs at the above-mentioned intersections. These signs have
been in place approximately eight years.
It is my reconaendation that the signs remain in place and that approval
for these signs through resolutions be done.
Attached is a diagram of the yield signing.
