RESOLUTION
RE: REGULATING, WARNING AND GUIDING TRAFFIC ON COUNTY
ROADS AND AT COUNTY ROAD INTERSECTIONS IN WELD
COUNTY, COLORADO.
WHEREAS, a multitude of complaints have been made to the Board
of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that drivers of motor
vehicles habitually drive on County Roads and through County Road Intersections
without regard for the general safety of drivers of other motor vehicles, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to 1973 Colorado Revised Statutes, 42-4-503 (1),
as amended, local authorities, in their respective jurisdictions shall place and
maintain such traffic control devices upon highways under their jurisdiction as
they deem necessary to regulate, warn, or guide traffic, and
WHEREAS, said Board, pursuant to such complaints, has determined
upon the basis of traffic and personal investigations that conditions exist which
make it necessary to regulate, warn and guide vehicular traffic on County Roads
by posting signs thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, EE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County
Commissioners, Weld County, Colorado, that the Board deems it necessary to
regulate, warn and guide traffic on County Roads and any intersections thereof,
and it hereby authorizes and orders the posting of such traffic control devices
as shall be reasonably necessary to regulate, warn and/or guide traffic thereon
for the safety of the general public and that said traffic control devices shall
conform to the State Manual and specifications.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners,
Weld County, Colorado, does declare and establish a NARROW BRIDGE-NO
PASSING zone area on the North and South sides of County bridge No, 45 1/2/541/2
between U. S. Highway No. 34 and County Road No. 54Z; said signs being approxi-
mately 750 feet from each end of the aforementioned bridge on said County road
No. 45 Z, all as shown on plat as submitted by the Weld County Engineer and made
a part hereof by reference.
