BE: Tap Request #1658
Dear Mr. Oliver:
Your tap request has been reviewed, and it has been determined that their is sufficient capacity for an additional
27 taps on your property from the Del Camino cross-tie with the Central Weld Water District. Since the source
of water is Central Weld, the taps are exempt from the current moratorium that exists within the Left Hand Wat
District. However, since your request is for 100 taps, it is our conclusion that storage is needed so that the otht
73 taps may be served during peak hour flow. Such storage should be at least 250,000 gallons in capacity and
have a pumping capability of I60 gpm: and be provided by the developer. I would like to discuss your plans in
relation to how many taps you will need each year for the next five years so that we can appropriately allocate
how many taps you will need and how many we may issue to others.
Our commitment to serve is based upon the following conditions:
1. Approval of any agreements made with Left Hand Water District by its Board of Directors,
2. Execution of a subdivision service agreement and minimum purchase agreements. ,
3. Approval by the District Engineer of storage/pumping facilities to be designed by
developer's engineer.
The tap fee within the Del Camino zone is currently being examined; it will be higher than our other zones due I
the relatively high expense of transmission lines and Central Weld Water.
The use of the dual water system within your development will benefit the eventual homeowners and is supporter
by Left Hand Water District; however, since each homeowner could supplement his irrigation requirements with
treated water, the District cannot at the present time offer any type of credit for peak flow reduction.
Please let me know if you need anything else.
Sincerely,
Cathy reterson
