RE: GRANT VARIANCE REQUEST FOR PLATTE RIVER POWER AUTHORITY CON-
CERNING RAWHIDE TRANSMISSION LINE.
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, Platte River Power Authority has requested a set-
back variance for structures #99 and #104 concerning the Rawhide
East Transmission Line, and
WHEREAS, structures #99 and #104 will be 55 feet and 60
feet respectively from the section line, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has studied said
variance request and deems it advisable to grant the request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the variance request of
Platte River Power Authority, as stated herein, be, and hereby
is , granted.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, (adopted by the following vote on the 27th day of
August, A.D. , 1980.

Subject: Platte River Power Authority Rawhide East Transmission Line
The above mentioned have requested a set-back variance for structures #99 and
#104, which will be 55 feet and 60 feet respectively from the section line.
The granting of this request would leave a maximum width of 120 feet for right-
of-way expansion at the intersection of Weld County Roads 17 and 90 and a max-
imum of 110 feet at the intersection of Weld County Roads 17 and would be 104.
The roads in question do not show on the Weld County Thoroughfare Plan for any
expansion.
From the above I would recommend the granting of this request.

Crossing Permits
Dear Mr. Olson:
Pursuant to our previous discussions concerning locations
of our proposed power poles near Weld County roads , please
refer to the plan and profile drawings previously trans-
mitted to you on May 20 , 1980 . Structure No. 87 will be
moved such that it is 100 feet from the section line.
Structure No . 99 is presently approximately 55 feet from
the section line. We are unable to move this structure
to a point 100 feet from the section line without changing
the easement description for the right-of-way, therefore
we request a variance for this structure. Structure No.
104 is presently right on the section line. We can move
this structure to a new point approximately 60 feet from
the section line; however, we cannot move it to a point
100 feet from the section line without changing the ease-
ment description for the right-of-way. Therefore we re-
quest a variance for this structure at the 60 foot location.
Structure No. 110 will be moved to a point 100 feet from
the section line.
Platte River could not obtain a voluntary easement from
the landowners where these structures are located, re-
sulting in condemnation for this right-of-way . If we had
to revise these easements due to structure relocation, it
would result in a delay in the in-service date of the
transmission line because we would have to start over with
the negotiation and condemnation procedures for the revised
easements . In order to avoid this delay to the project,
Platte River requests that Weld County,,,grant,us ,a._variance
