RE: DENY REQUEST FROM PHILLIP O 'SHEA FOR INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC
CONTROL DEVICES ON WELD COUNTY ROAD 6 BETWEEN WELD COUNTY
ROADS 5 AND 7
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County,
Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home
Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the
affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, on June 12 , 1989, Drew Scheltinga, the Engineering
Department Director, received a letter from Phillip O'Shea
requesting traffic control devices on Weld County Road 6 between
Weld County Roads 5 and 7 , and
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department, after inspection, has
advised the Board that the installation of traffic control devices
on said Road is not advisable, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it appropriate to deny
said request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, that the request of
Phillip O'Shea for the installation of traffic control devices on
Weld County Road 6 between Weld County Roads 5 and 7 be, and
hereby is, denied.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 12th day of
July, A.D. , 1989 .

As I had not heard back from you regarding my April 12th letter, I
thought I 'd better follow-up, Road 5 seems to be doing quite well now
that it is totally paved from HWY 52 to HWY 7, I 'm sorry to say that
the dump truck traffic along SCR 6, especially the 18-Wheelers, has not
diminished in the slightest, The traffic problems my neighbors and I
are and have been encountering are not caused by Weld County
residents/businesses. I repeat what I 've been stating for some time:
the traffic is coming from the counties south of Weld county and •
therefore WCR 5 improvements (paving) hayed little or no effect on the
traffic ,
The best option I see is to take one or more of the actions I have
suggested in my previous letters, mainly to either block access to WCR 6
• between WCRs 5 & 7, or put up Weight Restriction signs to prohibit "Non-
Local" delivery traffic within the neighborhood bounderies,
I have been overly patient with your "responsiveness" to the safety
of the residents in this area, Summer is here now, and their are many
children and animals and many others who are having their safety
jeopardized due to negligence on the parts of law enforcement and
government (county) officials,

syndrome philosophy you apparently practice up there, Believe me, I 'm
not going to go away until positive action is taken at your end,
