WHEREAS, on May 2, 1979 the Weld County Board of Commissioners
voted unanimously to install productivity improvement programs in the
Health Department, the Library, Road and Bridge operation, and
Buildings and Grounds Department; and
WHEREAS, it is within the Board's authority to install
productivity improvement programs in Weld County government; and
WHEREAS, the Board has the financial resources to make an
investment in this program that they believe will result in
significant savings for Weld County; and
WHEREAS, the Board has consistently kept the County Council
informed of their negotiations regarding the implementation of a
productivity program; and
WHEREAS, the County Council may conduct studies on efficiency in
County government, however, it has no power to implement those studies; and
WHEREAS, the County Council anticipates material savings to the
County tax payers from the productivity programs the Board has initiated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the County Council endorses
the Board's effort to implement management and operational techniques
that will result in the most effective use of personnel, facilities,
and equipment in Weld County government in order to insure delivery of
service to the citizens of Weld County, whileyat the same time minimizing
the cost of County government.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on Motion duly made
and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 5th day of June, 1979.
