RE: RECOMMEND STATE OF COLORADO ADOPT COLORADO HAIRSTREAK
BUTTERFLY AS THE COLORADO STATE INSECT
WHEREAS, the Weld County Council by unanimous vote, agrees with the students of
the third grade of Butler Elementary School of Ft. Lupton, Colorado; and,
WHEREAS, we wish to express our gratitude to the students of Butler Elementary
School for enlightening the County Council about the Colorado Hairstreak Butterfly.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Weld County Council recommends
that the State of Colorado officially adopt the Colorado Hairstreak Butterfly as the Colorado
State Insect.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on Motion duly made and seconded,
adopted by the following vote on the 3rd day of January 1996.
