HomeMy WebLinkAbout790053.tiff i RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Mrs. Nancy Clark, John T. Martin and Bob E. White were elected to the first Weld County Council, taking office in January, 1976, following the adoption of the County Home Rule Charter for Weld County in November, 1975; and WHEREAS, each is retiring after three years of service on the Weld County Council; and WHEREAS, the County Council is a new concept in government vested with important duties and powers in county government; and WHEREAS, the initial elected County Council had no previous record to guide it and aid it in its decisions; and WHEREAS, the voters of Weld County renewed their belief in this new venture in government by voting to retain the County Council at the general election held in November, 1978; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Nancy Clark, John T. Martin and Bob E. White have each contributed without salary or compensation, generous amounts of their time and effort in attending to the affairs of the County Council and in planning and establishing procedures for the County Council; and WHEREAS, the efforts of these Council persons will be a valuable experience to be used by members of the County Council in the future; and WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the people of Weld County express their thanks and gratitude to these individuals who have assisted so well in the development of the procedures of the County Council up to this time. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of Weld County, Colorado, through the present County Council, do hereby give a hearty thank-you to Mrs. Nancy Clark, John T. Martin, and Bob E. White for their dedicated and valuable service in behalf of good government in Weld County, Colorado, as members of the first County Council under Home Rule in Weld County, Colorado. 790053 The above and foregoing Resolution was, on Motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 16th day of January, 1979.
