Home My WebLink About830923.tiff RESOLUTION RE: AUTHORIZATION FOR CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD TO SIGN LETTER IN SUPPORT OF LUTHERAN SOCIAL SERVICES PROJECT - HOME AND COM- MUNITY SERVICES PROJECT WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and WHEREAS, a letter of support for the Home and Community Services Project as advanced by Lutheran Social Services of Colorado, was presented to the Board of County Commissioners for study and approval , and WHEREAS, said project seeks to demonstrate the effective- ness of a twenty-four hour family-focused, community-based treatment team, to prevent the out-of-home placement of troubled youth, and WHEREAS, the Board, after review and study, feels that this project is in the best interests of the citizens of Weld County, Colorado and, therefore, deems it advisable that the Chairman shall sign a letter in support of said project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com- missioners of Weld County, Colorado that the Chairman be, and hereby is, authorized to sign a letter in support of the Lutheran Social Services Project - Home and Community Services Project. The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted by the following vote on the 20th day of July, A.D. , 1983. This project seeks to demonstrate the effectiveness of a family-focused, community-based treatment team, available twenty-four hours, to prevent the out-of-home placement of troubled youth. Avoidance of out-of-home placement serves to keep families intact and avoids the expense of placement costs for the public. The Weld County Board of Commissioners therefore agrees to provide $10,000 as local funding (match) during the 1984 calendar year.
