Dear County Director:
Enclosed please fmd the Colorado Works Program work participation rate information for October&November
(FFY '00 to date). Keep in mind that as of October 1, 1999(FFY '00)the All Families requirement increased to
40%. It is also important to note that as of October I, 1999 the average weekly hours increased to 30 in work
and/or work activities.
Individual counties and the state as a whole continue to struggle with the 90%participation rate requirement for the
Two-Parent Household population. Our final FFY'99 average was well below that with only 42.7%. Meeting the
Two-Parent rate continues to be a challenge we must taken seriously. I continue to encourage counties to dedicate
time, staff and resources to better serve the needs of this group of Colorado Works Program participants and strive
to meet the 90%requirement. We will continue to provide technical assistance and training to all counties regarding
the work participation rates.
If you have questions regarding the enclosed reports or work participation rates in general, please contact me at
(303)866-4404 or Joe Barela at(303)866-5389.
Sincerely, &L11
