Dear Mr. Drotar:
This letter is in response to your letter dated January 29, 2000, regarding the request to pave Weld County
Road 16.5 between Weld County Road 1 and the bridge that crosses Boulder Creek.
Due to your request,the Public Works Department will acquire the information on traffic counts,area traffic
patterns, local growth, and drainage problems. If the criteria qualifies this section of road as a paving
candidate, it will be prioritized, placed in the 2001-2003 three-year maintenance construction plan, and
recommended to the Board for approval. The construction schedule has already been established for
2000.
In the interim, another option for the local residents is to provide dust control materials. The County does
not provide chemicals for dust control. Enclosed is Section 15.0 of the County's Ordinance 180 on the
Fugitive Dust Control.

Dear Commissioners,
This is a request for you to provide paving for part of our road 16 1/2 between
Weld County Road 1 and the bridge which crosses Boulder Creek.
When my wife and 1 first moved to 16 1/2 Road there were only six homes here in
1970. Do to very rapid growth we now have seventeen homes. The dust has always been
bad but now we are in an intolerable continuing dust bowl. The only way I can see this
resolved is by paving the road.
Please give the direction which will lead to paving our road.
