RE: APPROVE REQUEST TO TRANSFER TANF FUNDS TO CHILD WELFARE
PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Board has been presented with a Request to Transfer TANF Funds to
Child Welfare Program from the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through the Board
of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Social Services, to
the Colorado Department of Human Services with terms and conditions being as stated in said
request, and
WHEREAS, after review, the Board deems it advisable to approve said request, a copy
of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, ex-officio Board of Social Services, that the Request to Transfer TANF
Funds to Child Welfare Program from the County of Weld, State of Colorado, by and through
the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, on behalf of the Department of Social
Services, to the Colorado Department of Human Services be, and hereby is, approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the Chair be, and hereby is, authorized
to sign said request.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 6th day of September, A.D., 2000.

Dear Mr. Horton:
Weld County respectfully submits this request to transfer TANF funds. The amounts to be
transferred are as follows:
From 1999-2000 Allocation
Child Care S 0.00
Child Welfare $ 0.00
From 2000-2001 Allocation
Child Care $ 0.00
Child Welfare $ 445,777.00
It is our understanding that the rate at which TANF funds may be transferred to Child Welfare_
after September 30, 2000, is limited to 4.5%. Therefore, we would like to have this full
transferred prior to this date. This transfer is necessary to pay for our projected over-
expenditures in Residential Treatment Center Beds.
