FT. LUPTON RESIDENT CHOSEN TO FILL
DISTRICT 3 SEAT ON WELD COUNTY COUNCIL
The Weld County Council, in a special session at the Weld County Centennial
Center, March 23 appointed lifelong Ft. Lupton resident Mitchell Martin to fill the District
3 seat on the Council. An opening on the Council was created when Councilman Rob
Masden filed to seek the District 3 seat on the Board of Weld County Commissioners.
The Weld County Council, created by the Weld County Home Rule Charter in
1976, consists of five nonpartisan elected members, one representing the three districts
and two at-large members. In the year 2000 the County Council will be setting the
salaries of members of the Board of County Commissioners for the years 2003 and
2004.
April 18 at 7:30 PM the Council will be meeting at the Firestone Town Hall, 151
Grant Ave, Firestone, CO. Weld County citizens are welcome to attend Weld County
Council meetings to discuss ideas or concerns regarding Weld County government.
