SERVICE AUTHORITY BOARD
DECEMBER 19, 2000
The Weld County E-911 Emergency Telephone Service Authority Board met in regular session
Tuesday, November 21, 2000, at noon at the Weld County Centennial Center.
ROLL CALL:
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Kent Donahue. Present were Board Members Kent
Donanue, John Garavaglia, Barb Kirkmeyer, and Margie Martinez; and staff members Frank Bishop
and Jon Baker.
MINUTES:
Barb Kirkmeyer moved, seconded by John Garavaglia, that the minutes of the November 21, 2000,
meeting be approved as presented. Minutes were unanimously approved.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. Staff Report: Jon Baker gave stats for Dispatch for November.
2. Budget Approval: Margie presented the 2001 Budget for E-911. Frank presented a memo/bill
from US West Communications explaining wireless one-time charges incurred by Weld County
in 1999 and 2000 in the amount of$138,854.52. It will either appear on the December or
January bill. This expense was included in the budget and having no members of the public
present for the Public Hearing on the budget, John Garavaglia moved, seconded by Barb
Kirkmeyer, to approve the 2001 Budget. Motion passed unanimously.
3. Reverse 911: Frank presented additional information on the Reverse 911 project. The cost
is $38.974 plus $6,000 training for a total of$44,974. Additional expense would be a second
year extended warranty at $7,923 per year. A decision on this project was delayed until
January, when more information would be presented.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Treasurer's Report: John Garavaglia moved, seconded by Barb Kirkmeyer, to approve
payment of December bills in the amount of$31,663.30 for monthly service charges. Motion
was unanimously approved.
2. Mike Savage will replace Kent Donahue as City of Greeley's representative and will serve as
Chairman; Gary Sandau's term has expired and a new fire district representative will be
named; and Barb Kirkmeyer will be replaced by Mike Geile.
As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned. Next meeting will be January 16, 2001.
