Gentlemen:
As you probably know, the Town of Hudson has been contacted by
the State Health Department to improve the quality of its water.
To this end the town has been working on a project to include a
deep well and other improvements in the town water system.
One of the most important parts of this project is the acquisition
of water rights. The least expensive way of doing this for you
and the town would be to acquire those rights directly beneath
the town. There is an ordinance prohibiting the drilling of in-
dividual wells in town; but, more importantly, it would not be
economically feasible for each property owner to drill their own
well. By working together, our project can be completed to the
benefit of all citizens.
We are preparing a document which will enable you to deed to the
town those water rights which are directly beneath your property.
We look forward to your cooperation in this matter.
Sincerely,
Hudson Town Council
