The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session as the Board of
Social Services in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in
the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, June 7, 2000, at the hour of 9:00 a.rr.
ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were
present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof:
Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer, Chair
Commissioner M. J. Geile, Pro-Tem
Commissioner George E. Baxter
Commissioner Dale K. Hall
Commissioner Glenn Vaad
Also present:
County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker
Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick
Director of Finance and Administration, Don Warden
MINUTES: Commissioner Geile moved to approve the minutes of the Board of Social Services meeting
of June 5, 2000, as printed. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.
WARRANTS: Don Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the warrants for approval
by the Board in the amount of$6,713.72. Commissioner Hall moved to approve the warrants as )resented
by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Geile seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
CONSIDER EXPEDITED PERMANENCY PLANNING BUDGET REQUEST FOR JUNE 2000,
THROUGH MAY 31, 2001,AND AUTHORIZE CHAIR TO SIGN: Judy Griego, Director of Social Services,
stated this budget request is for $136,845.24 which is a decrease from last year's funding. Ms. Griego
stated the funds will be used to provide services including family group decision making, home studies,
psychological evaluation, interactional evaluations, adoptive studies, mediation, and special economic
assistance. Commissioner Vaad moved to approve said request and authorize the Chair to sign.
Commissioner Baxter seconded the motion. In response to Chair Kirkmeyer, Ms. Griego stated she is not
sure whether the judicial side has been decreased but other counties have been affected by the decrease
as well. The motion carried unanimously.
Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted
by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
