Home My WebLink About20000630.tiff RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS MINUTES BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WELD COUNTY, COLORADO MARCH 15, 2000 TAPE #2000-07 The Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, met in regular session in full conformity with the laws of the State of Colorado at the regular place of meeting in the Weld County Centennial Center, Greeley, Colorado, March 15, 2000, at the hour of 9:00 a.m. ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to order by the Chair and on roll call the following members were present, constituting a quorum of the members thereof: Commissioner Barbara J. Kirkmeyer, Chair Commissioner M. J. Geile, Pro-Tem Commissioner George E. Baxter Commissioner Dale K. Hall - EXCUSED Commissioner Glenn Vaad Also present: County Attorney, Bruce T. Barker Acting Clerk to the Board, Esther E. Gesick Director of Finance and Administration, Donald D. Warden MINUTES: Commissioner Geile moved to approve the minutes of the Board of County Commissioners meeting of March 13, 2000, as printed. Commissioner Vaad seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. ADDITIONS TO AGENDA: There were no additions to the agenda. CONSENT AGENDA: Commissioner Vaad moved to approve the consent agenda as printed. Commissioner Baxter seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously. COMMISSIONER COORDINATOR REPORTS: There were no Commissioner Coordinator Reports. PUBLIC INPUT: There was no public input. WARRANTS: Donald Warden, Director of Finance and Administration, presented the following warrants for approval by the Board: All Funds $289,271.83 Commissioner Geile moved to approve the warrants as presented by Mr. Warden. Commissioner Vaad seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. 2000-0630 BC0016 BIDS: PRESENT FUEL-DIESEL, UNLEADED,AND PROPANE BID-DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS: Mr. Warden presented the three bids received. Said bids will be considered for approval on Wednesday, March 29, 2000. PRESENT SMALL TOOL BID-DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS: Mr.Warden presented the four bids received. Said bids will be considered for approval on Wednesday, March 29, 2000. APPROVE CONSTRUCTION OF BRIDGE WEL 47.0-068.0B BID-DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS: Mr. Warden stated the Department of Public Works recommends approval of the low bid from Mountain Constructors, Inc., in the amount of $299,986.60. Commissioner Geile moved to approve said bid as recommended by staff. Commissioner Baxter seconded the motion. In response to Chair Kirkmeyer,Drew Scheltinga, Department of Public Works,stated he did have initial concerns with the low bid from Mountain Constructors because it is considerably less than the second low bid and engineer's estimate. Mr. Scheltinga stated the vendor responded with a letter dated March 8, 2000, explaining its quote, performance bonds and all appropriate documentation will be provided, and he is satisfied that Mountain Constructors, Inc.,will be able to complete this project within the bid amount. Commissioner Baxter stated this bidder has done work for Weld County in the past and there were no problems. The motion carried unanimously. APPROVE RUBBERIZED CRACK FILLING BID - DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS: Mr. Warden stated the Department of Public Works recommends approval of the low bid from Flat Coat Asphalt Specialists, LLC, in the amount of $103,234.60. Commissioner Baxter moved to approve said bid as recommended by staff. Commissioner Vaad seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. RESOLUTIONS AND ORDINANCES: The resolutions were presented and signed as listed on the consent agenda. No Ordinances were approved. Let the minutes reflect that the above and foregoing actions were attested to and respectfully submitted by the Acting Clerk to the Board.
