RE: ACTION OF BOARD CONCERNING WAIVER OF TEN-DAY WAITING PERIOD FOR
CONSIDERATION AND INVESTIGATION OF THE SURVEYING SERVICES BID -
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Weld County, Colorado, pursuant to
Colorado statute and the Weld County Home Rule Charter, is vested with the authority of
administering the affairs of Weld County, Colorado, and
WHEREAS, the Department of Purchasing has requested waiver of the ten-day waiting
period for the Surveying Services Bid for the Department of Public Works, Bid Request No.
0000232, to allow Frederick Land Surveying, Inc., adequate time to complete the surveying
projects prior to March 2001, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners deems it advisable to waive the ten-
day waiting period for said bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Weld County, Colorado, that the ten-day waiting period for the Surveying Services Bid for the
Department of Public Works, Bid Request No. 0000232 be, and hereby is, waived.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board that the low bid from Frederick Land
Surveying, Inc., be, and hereby is, accepted.
The above and foregoing Resolution was, on motion duly made and seconded, adopted
by the following vote on the 22nd day of November, A.D., 2000.

SUBJECT: Surveying Services
COLORA P S BID REQUEST NO. 0000232
Weld County received three proposals for surveying services as follows:
Frederick Land Surveying, Inc. $41,750.00
Drexel, Barren & Co. $46,320.00
King Surveyors, Inc. $56,592.25
Frederick Land Surveying had a similar contract with Weld County in 1999 and performed well.
We recommend awarding the surveying contract to Frederick.
Our request for proposals required all topographic mapping to be completed by March 1, 2001,
which is a very tight timetable. Frederick has requested we approve their proposal at the earliest
possible date because they have a survey crew able to begin work immediately.
Because there is no conflict with any of the proposals and the timetable for completion is short, I
request emergency approval by the Board of County Commissioners on November 22, 2000.
