Dear Mr. Robertson:
This is in response to your letter dated April 4, 2000, regarding Colorado Interstate Gas
Company's proposal to install a 24-inch gas pipeline.
The Weld County Zoning Ordinance requires a Use by Special Review Permit for major utility
projects. Please contact Monica Mika-Daniels, Director of Planning, at (970)356-4000, Ext.
3520 for further information.
Weld County will not allow a 24-inch gas pipeline to be constructed within County rights-of-way;
however, the County recognizes that crossing the road at many locations will be necessary. A
Right-of-Way Use Permit will be required. To obtain a permit, please contact Bill Hawkins, Utility
Inspector, Weld County Public Works Department at (970)304-6496.
Due to the extent of the project, it will be necessary for Weld County to contract inspection and
testing of road crossing construction. Colorado Interstate Gas Company will be required to
reimburse the County for inspection and testing expenses in addition to the normal permit fees.

Re: New natural gas pipeline construction
Dear Landowner,
Colorado Interstate Gas Company (CIG) is proposing to construct a new 24-inch natural gas
pipeline in Weld County, Colorado, as part of its Valley Line Expansion project. As shown on
the enclosed map, this new pipeline would extend generally parallel to CIG's existing Wyoming
Main Lines from the Cheyenne Compressor Station near the Colorado—Wyoming State Line
southerly to a point of termination near the Big Thompson River southwest of Greeley,
Colorado.
Because our records indicate that you own property that may be affected by this proposed
construction, we would like to speak with you about your property and the process of finding a
satisfactory alignment for the new pipeline. A CIG representative will be contacting you soon.
In addition, CIG would like to invite you to an Open House to be held at Ault High School on
Tuesday, April 18, at 7:00 p.m. At this meeting, CIG will provide information regarding the
proposed project and discuss general issues that you would like to be addressed during the
project planning process.
